　　Vines from deep hills, soft and fine,
　　Woven, lacquered, time doth shine.
　　Qing’ s craft lingers, warm and true,
　　Each piece breathes with olden hue.
　　Huaiyuan Vine Weaving, a cherished traditional handicraft that traces its roots to Huaiyuan Town in Chongzhou, stands as a glittering cultural gem that has woven its rich legacy since the Qing Dynasty. It selects mountain vines, gifts nurtured in the seclusion of deep forests, and undergoes a series of elaborate processes. The vines are carefully beaten to soften their fibers, then precisely trimmed into shapes that suit the intended design, followed by intricate weaving with hands honed by decades of practice, and eventually coated with natural varnish that locks in both durability and a lustrous sheen. This transformative journey turns the once unassuming vines into exquisite furniture and daily articles that merge functionality with artistry.
　　What elevates this craft beyond an item is not only that its products boast
sturdy structures capable of withstanding the wear and tear of daily use, along with excellent breathability that keeps users comfortable in all seasons, but also that their designs, which carry a timeless simplicity with understated elegance, reflect the profound philosophy of traditional Chinese craftsmanship.
　　In the modern era, Huaiyuan Vine Weaving has not faded into obscurity.
Instead, it has evolved to fit contemporary life — craftsmen now infuse modern design elements into classic patterns, thus earning it the title of“Intangible Cultural Heritage of Sichuan Province”.
　　Each finished piece is a living witness to a century-old tradition, a tangible
link between the past and the present, and a storyteller that murmurs tales of skills passed down from generation to generation, ensuring that this ancient art continues to thrive in the modern world.

怀远藤编：一种历久弥新的古老技艺

　　深山藤叶软如绸，织罢涂漆岁月流。清工遗韵暖依旧，件件皆含古意悠。怀远藤编，这门源自成都崇州市怀远镇的珍贵传统手工艺，自清代起便织就了厚重传承，堪称一颗璀璨的文化瑰宝。它甄选深山幽林孕育的藤条——那是秘境馈赠的自然之礼，再历经一系列繁复精巧的工序：先悉心捶打藤条，柔化其纤维；再精准修剪，塑造成契合设计的模样；随后，经数十年锤炼的巧手将其细细编织；最终涂上天然漆料，既保证耐用性，又赋予其莹润光泽。这段蜕变之旅，让原本朴素的藤条，化作兼具实用与美感的精美家具与日常器物。
　　这门工艺之所以超越普通器物的范畴，不仅因其制品结构坚固，能抵御日常使用的磨损，且透气性极佳，四季使用皆能带来舒适体验，更在于其造型透着永不过时的简约之美，含蓄中藏着雅致，完美诠释了中国传统工艺深厚的美学理念。
　　在当代，怀远藤编并未湮没于时代洪流中。相反，它顺势革新，融入现代生活——工匠们将现代设计元素注入经典纹样，也正因这份传承与创新，它被列入国家级非物质文化遗产代表性项目名录。
　　每一件成品，都是百年传统的鲜活见证，是连接过去与当下的有形纽带，更是诉说技艺代代相传的讲述者。正是这份坚守与蜕变，让这门古老技艺得以在现代世界中继续绽放光彩。
